    Officemaster 4 + Exchange 2010 - FAX doesn't work.

    Hello,

    My name is Andrew, I’m systems administrator at ameria GmbH. We use your hardware and software for our UM infrastructure which help us very much. Everything works fine but the last time our FAX has stopped and now we cannot receive any faxes. The system has configured by third party service provider who doesn’t support us anymore and now we have to solve all problems by ourselves. The main problem at this moment that I cannot find any documentation in English translation and translation German is very difficult for me at this moment and as result I cannot understand completely what is going on. I have made several screenshots which can show you the problem. The account which cannot receive FAX(+49 6221 43 43-303) is “office” and also I saw some errors regarding of another user who already moved to another OU at Active Directory. Some details about our infrastructure:
    OCS 2007 r2 Standard.
    Exchange 2010 Standard.

    in the thread there are two errors, which have the following reasons:

    1. POM "The object cannot be opened."

    For each installed OfficeMaster Exchange Connector a postmaster must be configured. This is a mailbox which receives all non distributable fax documents. In difference to the AD entries in ADUC, in the OfficeMaster gateway configuration the postmaster is only stored as LDAP path.

    The given error has two possible reasons:
    • The postmaster should not be moved to another OU. This would cause a broken link to the object.
    • The service account has no sufficent rights to open the object, to retrieve the SMTP address for sending fax documents to the postmaster.



    2. ADsLookupUserDN: Object cannot be found.

    To replace in the subject field the phone number with a name of the caller, every sender of incoming faxes and every recipient address of outgoing faxes are resolved in AD and/or other address books. The specified error only says, that the number "+49 6...303" is not found in AD. This is usual, and might not be an error.

    Your problem may be, that the address (DID) which is configured for your "office" account is not the address which is given by the hardware. The number which is shown in the component status windows, when you phone the faxnumber of the user office directly, must be configured as proxy address type FAX. The number "303", which is shown in your pic, is obviously not delivered by the hardware that way.

    In the log must be some other errors which show the problem. Maybe you could send the Logs directly to the OfficeMaster Hotline.
